Happy World Book Day 2022

Updated: Mar 5, 2022

✨Storytime is Together Time ✨

World Book Day isn't just for a DAY, it should be made part of our lifestyle and everyday! Alice and friends all LOVE reading. Piles of books are everywhere and a trip to the library is always a treat – because there’s always an adventure in every book!

#IAmAReader – We love the connection that books provide. The connection to characters that become memorable friends. The connection a book can reflect to other places and people around the world, history and beyond! But, most of all the connection between child and parent every time a book is opened; story time isn’t just at bedtime for us, it’s ANY time.

Read, read and read some more! At When Alice Sleeps we’re always looking to inspire you to a love for illustration and reading in a super fun and creative way! Helping children fall in love with reading because great words married with dreamy, adventurous illustrations all help make every reading experience magical.

Start your own book

Has your young reader been harbouring fantasies of becoming an author or illustrator when they grow up? World Book Day is the perfect day to encourage them to create their own stories. Find some writing prompts online (check out ours in the Activities section) and then for the artists, we’ve got some fabulous drawing tutorials. Children could even copy the illustrations from their favourite books to hone their drawing skills and get those creative juices flowing.

Whatever you are up to today, don't forget you're never lonely with a great book!

Read as much as you can alone or together – whether it's old favourites or something brand new, nothing beats curling up with a good book.

Have a great booksy-kinda-day!
