What a joyful way to spend a Sunday!
On Sunday 22nd March, we welcomed a wonderful group of mini creatives (and parents) to our Easter-themed When Alice Sleeps Create Club and it truly was one colourful morning!
Tables filled quickly, sleeves were rolled up and the friendly colouring fun had begun.
A big thank you to everyone who came along, you made the morning very special and the hard work we put in planning, creating the artwork for you and organising each event worthwhile.
We saw:
Our giant colouring poster brought to life with colour and personality
Creative Alice Bunny masks designed, made, and proudly worn
Beautiful 3D wooden flowers and bookmarks, each completely unique
Smiles, focus and that lovely excitement and proudness that comes from simply making something
Why Simple Creativity Matters
At When Alice Sleeps, what we do is simple — and that’s exactly the point.
Life is busy. Work takes over. Phones constantly demand attention and quality family time can easily slip down the list.
That’s why Create Club exists.
It’s a space to:
Slow down
Switch off
Spend real time together
Because sometimes, the best thing you can do is sit down and make something (with yummy cake too).
There’s no “right way” to join in and that’s what we love about our Create Club sessions.
Yesterday we saw:
Parents chatting while children coloured
Grown-ups joining in with colouring themselves
Families creating side by side
Children confidently making their own creations
You can colour, make, chat or just take a moment — it’s entirely up to you.
(Almost) No Phones Allowed :)
We encourage everyone to put phones away and be present.
The only exception?.... Taking lots of photos of your little one’s creations!
But, don’t forget to tag us @whenalicesleeps when you share them — we love seeing what you’ve made and it’s the perfect way to show others what they missed too!
A big thank you to Caffe Botanico for being such a fantastic host.
Their friendly, attentive team always help create a warm, welcoming space for our sessions and we love partnering with them.

Sunday 10th May, drop-in anytime from 11 - 2pm at Caffe Botanico, Sutton Coldfield (inside House of Fraser, Gracechurch Shopping Centre). Tickets are available now and booking is preferred to be guaranteed a marker pen (or two)!
