A Magical Festive Sunday at When Alice Sleeps: Create Club

Last Sunday, 7th December, we filled the cosy corner of Caffe Botanico in Sutton Coldfield with festive sparkle for our final When Alice Sleeps: Create Club of the year and what a heart-warming morning it was! From the moment mini Sutton Coldfielders stepped through the door, the room came alive with colour, curiosity and that unmistakable December magic.
Surrounded by warm chatter, a cosy set-up and the smell of great coffee, the little ones jumped into their creative worlds with the kind of joy that always inspires us.
Creativity, Confidence & Crafts in Real Life
Our themed activities invited children to explore festive artwork, shapes and colours; and they didn’t hold back! Whether it was colouring our Christmas-themed giant poster, crafting their own Alice bunny ears, designing a balloon bauble or simply, experimenting with sparkly materials and proudly showing off their artwork; every moment reminded us why creative play is such a powerful part of childhood.
We were especially moved by your feedback on how valuable these hands-on sessions are. Something as simple as gripping a felt tip or experimenting with different materials can be a big leap in building fine motor skills and it’s incredible to see how real-life crafts help to create a sensory-rich environment for children to learn, express and grow.
As always, the best part of CREATE Club is you. Your enthusiasm, encouragement and love for the Arts shine through every session.
